I like Moriah. She is currently annoying the f-ing heck out of me because she tops me in EVERYTHING I DO, but I like her nontheless. =P

She remembers more of the stuff from Japanese, her accent is as good as mine, her writing is neater... she's in freaking pre-calc... her handwriting is more elegant and compact than mine, her soprano is sweeter than mine... for goodness sakes, my soprano voice apparently died this summer. I'm a pure alto now.

*cough* ANYWAYS. We're writing our first essay for English. (I thinkt the goodlooking English teacher likes her better than he likes me, too... *grumblemumble*) Beowulf and the elements of Christianity and Paganism therein. Fun.

Moriah has a very... how shall I say it... condescending, wordy style of writing. It took me, a frequent reader who enjoys big words and complex, elegant sentence structure like a kindergartener enjoys the deluxe 48-color box of Crayola crayons, two read overs to get her point. She has a very condescending style of writing. She says she doesn't write for stupid people. =D (You see why I like her yet? =D)

But Mr. Gebbia asked her to tone it down. And I offered my advice. After hearing his verdict, I admit I agreed with the good-looking English teacher. Even her mom said she was a little over the top. (Actually, according to M-san, her mom used condescending.)

So she's extremely offended.

Also about Moriah... I do enjoy having English with her. We both have very fragmented, abbreviated styles of notetaking, so when Mr G puts notes on the board, we copy them in 10sec while the other poor saps sit there writing out each little word. We discuss our notetaking, handwriting, kanji, teachers... it's cool. Moriah is definitely a school friend. Someone to discuss grades, classes, and extra curriculars with, but unfortunately not much else.

I love her crazy attitude, though.

I admire Hannah, flat out. I admire anyone who plays an instrument, I admire anyone who is learning/can speak another language (she's in Japanese like me, only a year ahead). I admire anyone with a good sense of humor. Hannah's above me in about everything I do, and yeah, I do look up to her. Not to mention I like her an awful lot.

She dropped IB, and now they won't let her take her IB Early Bird. So she has to drop either Choir or Japanese, because she needs the space for her T&T class. Complete schedule rearranging.

[Rest of this written 9-17-04]

I spoke to her today at the Exec Board meeting. We ducked into the exec room, waiting for Mrs. Richards, Carlos, Krystelle, Stori and Natalie, for Arlene and Rana couldn't make it. We flopped down on the couch, split a chocolate bar, and discussed fundraising, decorating the room, Mr. Ciarlo, IB, etc. She's back in IB, and she'll finish out. So she keeps Choir and Japanese. Thank goodness.

But she's in CC instead of Mads now, which kinda sucks. I was looking forward to having a class with her. Ah, well.

And she's definitely going to Japan. ^o^ Yay!

Carlos: [fundraising] We can sell Halloween grams...
Me: Japanese Club is already doing that.
Stori: Japanese Club sucks.
Hannah: Hey.
Carlos: Why? I mean they do all this fundraising and they never go anywhere.
Hannah: Our trip two years ago was canceled. Because of the war.
Me: We're going to go to Japan this year.
Carlos/Natalie: *laughing*
Carlos: You're going to sell lollipops to go to Japan?
Hannah: Did you really think we'd make it to Washington?
Carlos: Well, yeah. Of course.
Natalie: Yeah, I did.
Me: What's the difference?

No one answered me; Krystelle finally unblonded herself (there's a reason she won the "Move Over, Jessica Simpson!" award last year) and asked where Japanese Club was going. Natalie said the closest we'd get to Japan was Chinatown. So Hannah elected to change the subject. I think she was offended. I know I was.

I sincerely dislike Carlos. Control freak. Raising the cost of uniform rental by $10. I give him credit for changing his mind about not reimbursing me for developing photos, though.

But too much more, and I think I'll be renaming him Czarlos.

I have yet to form much of an opinion on the new choir teacher. She seems nice enough, though. Sometimes her husband and baby hang around class. Her husband sometimes works with the tenors. The baby is cute.

Other!Michael doesn't like her much because she switched him to tenor. (She kept me as an alto, by the way, which is cool) He's sure he can't sing that high. -_- Poor guy.

So far, I think the song she chose for us and Concert Choir (Keep Your Lamps!) is a stupid, lame song. I have no idea why it's considered sacred (as opposed to secular). All I see is a quick reference to a Christian journey in there.

Other than that, she rarely warms us up, so I'm more or less sucking. I need a good warmup, so I've taking to singing Christmas carols as I change from PE and on my way there.

"God rest ye, Merry Gentleman, let nothing you dismay!"
"Jolly old St. Nicholas, lean your eay this way..."
"Oh, come, all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant..."

And to be a brat, her laugh is a bit odd, and Miss Palermo was simply easier on the eyes. But that's pretty minor, yes?

Anyway, aside from having tests or quizzes in Chemistry, Algebra 2, Japanese, and History, plus an essay due in English, badminton in PE, and Keep Your Lamps, The National Anthem and the Alma Mater in Mads, life is good.

From what I heard when I visited Valley, no one is allowed to sell any candy as fundraisers anymore because of that whole healthy eating crap they have now. *shrug* I felt the need to say that. And also, that those lollipops are damn good stuff, I like the cookies n creame ones. ;)

And the new choir teacher is the ceramics/German teacher?? Her husband, the art 1 teacher? I only ask because I'll you now that they're both great teachers. If we're talking about the same teacher, tell Mrs. Richards I said hi and if she doesn't remember, oh freakin' well.

The German teacher? I have no idea; I heard she was fresh from Seattle. But she grew up in Vegas from what I hear. *shrugs* Long, messy red hair?

I'll tell Hannah next time I see her. =D Maybe Monday, may not be until Friday, though.

Oh, and about the candy, that's true. Sensei is annoyed because she still has a whole bag of lollipops.

Of course, PE still sells donuts, and ROTC still sells those heavenly cookies, I bought some the other day. I asked the ROTC kids why they sell cookies, and they say they're reduced fat, soooo...

Yessiree! Yukina indeed! Isn't she adorable? *hands I Am Observant And Cool badge to Wraithy

Wraith, love, you don't need to be a blonde to actually be blonde. Blonde is a state of mind. =) Trust me. It's mainly the look on her face. =D

So. . . let's see if I've got this right: Kuwabara is the big one with the orange hair and white clothes. . . Hiei is the short one with spiky hair. . .and Yukina is the one with the green hair and big eyes (when she's not pretending to be blonde). Am I right?

Yup! *hands Wraith a cookie shaped like a Hork-Bajir*

And she isn't really blonde, but she is a little clueless sometimes. In a cute way. =)
