A YYH fic idea is taking over my brain. I'm loving the idea, as well. I'm especially loving a certain original character --Fuyuko. *twitch* How lame is that? But while she started out as an OC, I turned her into a... well, spoilerish. Then again, why not? No YYH fans 'cept Ava-chan read this, and she's on vacation.
Fuyuko is Japanese for 'winter child,' first off. Appropriate for an ice demoness, no? I'm not 100% sure it's an actual Japanese name, but since Haruko, Akiko, and Natsuko (spring child, autumn child, and summer child, respectively) are names, I'll risk it.
Anyway, she's a rogue ice maiden who escapes the Ice World, and goes out to adventure on her own, only to discover a human baby boy wrapped in a rabbit's skin one day in the snow. She names him Yukito (snow rabbit, any CCS fan should know that) and decides to be a rogue ice maiden and break the sacred laws, and raise Yukito as his mother. She teaches him to fight with ice, etc, etc.
Yukito just so happens to be a friend of Young Genkai's. ^^;; So when Genkai, Toguro Kyoudai, and their other teammates (Yukito and Yamato) are invited to the Dark Tournament, of course Fuyuko goes, too. She's a sort of motherly figure to Genkai. I'm going to say it was Fuyuko who taught Genkai how to heal wounds.
Eh. Spoilerspoilerspoiler... dark tournament... stuff that has not yet been resolved... or decided...
Femmeslash relationship -- Fuyuko x Genkai -- happens at some point. Somehow. Needs a plausible reason... Ehhh. *does not like Toguro x Genkai*
Anyway. Toguro Kyoudai become demons, Yukito & Yamato killed, Fuyuko and Genkai cannot live happily ever after.
Fuyuko dies somehow (can't figure out how!) at some point (which point?) and Koenma tells Genkai she'll be reincarnated.
In a TWT YYH world, after the Bonds of Fire/Poltergeist Report movie, Kurama, Koenma and Genkai are being killed in the past, etc etc etc... Koenma uses his omnipotent TV recorder that records everything that goes on in the world(s) to show some of Genkai's past for background so that Yusuke, Kuwabara, Hiei, Botan, Keiko, Yukina and Shizuru... Fuyuko appears on screen, and everyone nearly dies from shock, as she has long, ice-blue hair and big, cherry-blossom pink eyes...
In other words, she looks exactly like Botan! Who's only worked as a ferrygirl in the last 10 years. She therefore can't be much younger/older than Yusuke (14/15). Probably a little younger than Shizuru (17). Mou.
In other other words, I want to write Botan x Young Genkai. Blame Yukikaima's Yukina x Young Genkai fic.
Anyway, recap: Botan was the ice maiden Fuyuko in a previous life.
Why?
Well, Botan looks an awful lot like Yukina, the real canon ice maiden on the main cast. Ice maidens' tears become jewels when they cry, too, and there's a scene where Botan cries and her tears are oddly sparkly... Reincarnation might not be the right word: she's the very basic soul of Fuyuko, with a weak, hazy copy of the ice maiden's memories buried deep within her subconscious. Chalk up her tears not crystalizing to the fact that she's not a real person, per se: she's a spirit, a specter. Her tears aren't real enough to become hiruiseki.
Also my explanation of the fact that Botan really barely knew Genkai when she died by Toguro's hand. It's Fuyuko's hazy memories that broke her up and made her cry so much.
I'm also gonna say that Genkai briefly thought Yukina was Fuyuko's reincarnate... but as she'll tell Koenma (when I write it), "That would be too damn easy."
And when I imagine Fuyuko, I think of Botan from the Bonds of Fire/Poltergeist Report movie: hair loose, dressed in white, weak smile set in determination. Must find screen cap.

Uhm. My uncle came over briefly. My brother's birthday is Aug 23, and that same uncle's is the 22nd. Mou.
My parents just celebrated 21 years of marriage, 15 with kids. Yay!
[note to self: remind sam to email uncle mike, and daddy that u.m. wants more comp/wmp lessons]
