Ax and "Discovering Ardi"
Oct. 15th, 2009 10:45 pmI'm watching a Discovery Channel special on the Ar. ramidus skeleton, Ardi, and one part of the program can be described as a bunch of scientists going "What the heck is wrong with us, we walk on two legs! How the heck did we evolve to do that, it makes no sense! No other animal does that!"
I have this mental image of Ax smugly agreeing until someone shoves a Cinnabon at him. :D
(Possible answer: apparently, natural selection went for males who could walk long distances and carry back enough food for his mate and offspring.)
