Petition idea & Ava-meme-stealing fun
Jul. 18th, 2004 05:01 pmFirst, the meme. I stole it from Ava-chan.
Next, Ava and I were talking today. About Mary Sue and CYOA, and we agree: we must do SOMETHING. We're thinking of starting a petition, hopefully to get FanFiction.Net to ban the two genres.
Here's my logic on the matter: FF.N has already banned Lists, MSTs, NC-17, and fics about real people. We're real people, too, it's not a fic if you write about yourself. And Ava pointed out that CYOA (Choose Your Own Adventure) is interactive; they've banned that, as well, I think.
Anyone interested?

The only ban I agreed with was the Real People fic because that stuff scares me, though I have a friend who boycotted the site because of it.
FFN should really quit banning stuff altogether.
