What's the last thing you wrote?
Rachel from Animorphs POV from a character development AU/
Was it any good?
I hate Rachel. Surprisingly, yes.
What's the first thing you ever wrote that you still have?
My mommy still has my journals from first and second grade somewhere... You know, I had to write a sentence every day. Then it was two. Then it was five. Lame stuff that shames me, it basically all amounts to "_____ is cool. _______ is somewhere. _________ is this color. ______ did this. I like it."
Was it any good?
Oops, I already answered this!
Write poetry?
*nods vigorously* My entire FP.C account is poetry.
Angsty poetry?
Nothin' but.
Favorite genre of writing?
Angst. Drama.
Most fun character you ever wrote?
If I have to choose one, and only one... I can't. It's tie between Yukina from YYH, for her ability to be cutely clueless and mind-bustingly angsty, and Erek from Animorphs, because he plainly kicks ass. But I've enjoyed almost every character I've written.
Most annoying character you ever wrote?
......Cassie from Animorphs? She managed at least a mention in almost every fic I wrote.
Best plot you ever wrote?
Haven't written it yet.
Coolest plot twist you ever wrote?
That would be telling.
How often do you get writer's block?
Often enough to annoy me, but not as much as a lot of other people. I write in 'blitzes,' I write a lot for a period of time, before I go through another period of writing next to nothing. Anything I do write in an 'anti-blitz' is pretty much crap.
How do you fix it?
I read a lot, do a lot of random things, look at words, images, pictures, anything to ignite the spark.
Write fan fiction?
Guilty.
Of what?
Lots of anime poetry. Yu Yu Hakusho stories, usually about Hiei, Yukina or Kuwabara. Animorphs, specifically Erek and Jake, but with various other cameos. Some Rurouni Kenshin. And Remnants, I was probably the only person on FF.N who continuously wrote Remnants fic.
Is it better or worse than your other writing?
On my own, all I write is poetry, mainly because I'm a lazy-ass. Compared with my fanpoetry, I say it's about even.
Do you type or write by hand?
Again, I'm a lazy-ass. I type, man. Sometimes I scribble out poems and haiku by hand, but only when it's a spur of the moment thing.
Do you save everything you write?
I try. I find old writings in the strangest places, because I don't throw anything away.
Do you ever go back to an old idea long after you abandoned it?
Yes. (Thank you, Ava-chan.)
What's your favorite thing that you've written?
Ooh, good question. Probably my poem "Cold Rain," and my fanfic, "Candles." And I was also very proud of "Lady Winter," and "Dutch Dawn."
What's everyone else's favorite thing that you've written?
I've christened it 'that damned parody.' Also The Chee Chronicles.
Do you even show people your work?
Only my fanfiction. I do have an FP.C account, but I rarely use it.
Who's your favorite constructive critic?
NO ONE EVER CRITICIZES ME! Except a certain East Coast Ryder, who was COMPLETELY WRONG. I checked the books.
Do you have a website for your writings?
I use FanFiction.Net and FictionPress.Com, and I'm archived at "Lovely Cyborg," "Shades of Gray," and "Spirit Gun!" I have considered it, though.
Did you ever write a novel?
I am a LAZY-ASS.
Have you ever written fantasy, sci-fi, or horror?
I hate it all. I like realistic stories, historical fiction and stuff like that. I only make exceptions for J.K. Rowling and K.A. Applegate. I guess I've written scifi though, if you count my Animorphs fiction.
Ever written romance or teen angsty drama?
Guilty. Hate romance.
What's your favorite setting for your characters?
Some place outside. Usually with trees, though I have used the beach before. Almost always has a tree, though. Usually with Hiei sitting in it. ^_^
What's one genre you have never written, and probably never will?
Horror!
How many writing projects are you working on right now?
Cheechron, I'm thinking of picking Traitor back up, Trials, and a sequel series to that damned parody-- "Slamming Siblings."
Do you want to write for a living?
Yes and no. I have other dreams besides writing, but it's as good a career as any.
Have you ever written something for a magazine or newspaper?
My Science teacher gave me extra credit for writing an article for the school paper once. And damn did I need it... ^_~
Have you ever won an award for your writing?
Sorta. I've entered contests, and I usually get an honorable mention and published. I also got the highest score possible on a standardized writing test in eighth grade, and with everyone staring at me when I walked into class that day (I was late, as usual, but fashionably this time!), it felt like an award.
Ever written something in script or play format?
No.
What are your five favorite words?
Tough question. "Pianissimo" is one. "Turquoise." "Antithesis." Um, "evanescent," I guess. And "etym," which is Greek for 'word.'
I also like the name "Donalbain," from Macbeth. And several Japanese words, such as "omoshiroi" (interesting).
Do you ever parody?
Um, have you SEEN the state of the YYH section? It's kinda hard not to.
Do you actually like that thing, or are you spitefully making fun of it?
It depends.
Do you ever write based on yourself?
Considering all the snipe and sarcasm that goes into my writing, oh hell yeah.
What character that you've written most resembles yourself?
Chee-Niomee from Cheechron, I guess.
Where do you get ideas for your other characters?
I just write them. I don't really think about it.
Do you ever write based on your dreams?
My dreams are too dang weird to inflict on the general public.
Do you favor happy endings, sad endings, or cliffhangers?
Happy! Happy, damn it. Or at least humorous.
Have you ever written based on an artwork you've seen?
Er, no.
Write me a really classy simile:
The blue in her eyes is as sweet as her blue silk gown.
Now write me a really dumb simile:
Red like blood.
Are you concerned with spelling and grammar as you write?
Spelling, yes. Grammar, not so much, because I often write a lot of dialogue. Dialogue needs a certain realistic feel that grammar doesn't always provide. Plus, I have a very fragmented writing style. My grammar checker hates me.
Ever write something entirely in chatspeak? (How r u?)
Even in IMs, I tend to use sentences, but I do revert to my fangirl days...
Entirely in L337?
Do I LOOK like a Megatokyo fan?
Was that question completely appalling and unwriterlike?
If you like Megatokyo, probably not.
Does music help you write?
Doesn't really make a difference.
Do you have a weblog or LiveJournal?
Ya think? Look around, wonder boy.
Are people surprised and confused when they find out you write well?
Hard to tell, really. It's like "Oh, that's good! Write more." End of discussion.
Quote something you've written. The first thing to pop into your mind.
Cold rain
White pain
Is all I feel.
Exhaustion
No oxygen
Is all I know.
